Summary Issues & Interviews is a 59-minute long radio talk program designed to stimulate thought and response from listeners on areas of common Christian concern. It is non-political in nature, and seeks to address its chosen subject matter from a non-sectarian viewpoint.
Format Issues & Interviews is a 59-minute package without local cutaways. The program is produced live at KPDQ studios in Portland, Oregon, and is structured as a live call-in talk program. The 800 number given during the program routes listeners directly to the host studio at KPDQ.
Content Subject matter is approached from a balanced Christian perspective. Quality guests are picked for their expertise and ability to communicate. Guests & topics during the last two years have included: Dr. Kay Kuzma-Parent-child relationship expert; Dr. Hans Diehl-Nationally acclaimed spokesperson on nutrition; Dan Matthews-Host of the television program "Lifestyle Magazine;" Stephen Arrington-Former chief diver for Jacques Cousteau; Ed Reid-Author and leader for Larry Burkette financial seminars; Lee Gugliotto-ECPA gold medallion award-winning author; and Gary Hopkins-Internationally noted expert on the effects of addiction on youth and families. Content is regularly a significant addition to a local station's public service and community issues programming.
Sponsorship Issues & Interviews is sponsored and produced by the Northwest Headquarters for the Seventh-day Adventist Church, of which Dr. Jere Patzer, the program host, is president. A one-sentence sponsorship mention is given at the beginning and the end of each program.
Availability The program airs live from 4:00 - 4:59 p.m. Pacific Time on the first Saturday of each month. It is available on USA-4. Listen to the latest broadcast program HERE.
