Cruise Update: July 4, 2008
- For those driving to Seattle, consider this:
You may leave your car at Auburn Adventist Academy for the week of the cruise free of charge, beginning Sunday, August 3 (According to the travel agent, it will cost you $84 for the week at the pier). For $20 (round trip) an academy van will take us and our luggage to meet the ship at approximately 11 am. (Come at 10:30 so you can park, load your things in the van and we can leave the academy at 11 am.). Sunday morning, August 10, the van will return to the pier to pick us up and take us back to the academy.
Space is limited. Please let me know via email or leave a message at my office (360-857-7031) if you would like a spot reserved for you. Instructions as to where to park/meet at the academy will be forthcoming. Cash payment for this round trip service will be expected the morning of August 3. The academy is located at 5000 Auburn Way S, Auburn, WA 98092.
- Excursions at ports of call or outreach?
There will be chances to do outreach at the three Alaskan ports of call. Of course these are optional. You may choose to be involved in the outreach each of the three days. Or one day you may choose to do one of the excursions offered by the cruise line, doing outreach the other two days. Or you may be able to do a half day excursion and still have time to participate in outreach (at least at on the two days we are in port the longest). We want to be flexible with our outreach schedule and yet accomplish good things for each community. (Sitka and Ketchikan are quite small towns that hover around the harbor so the shops will be in easy access.)

If you are signing up for Butchart Gardens on Saturday evening be sure to do so SOON. I have attached the information to remind you. Because of everyone’s busy summer schedule, we have extended the registration cutoff date to receive the free transportation and group rate into the Gardens to July 14.
